“The Pope is wrong, put a condom on”

What a day!
Today i joined thousands of fellow SydneySiders to protest the Pope, and his religious circus that’s taken over our city this week.
The (Tax payer funded) mass Christian gathering for “World Youth Day” is not sitting well with the people of Sydney.

Hundreds of millions of tax payers dollars have been handed over to put this thing together, yet, The Gay and Lesbian Mardi-Gras, which pulls THREE TIMES as many international visitors, and is held every single year, does not get a cent from the government.

That’s just not right people.

Today’s march though was not intended to be anything other than peaceful.
There was only one arrest - a “pilgrim” who found a gap in the police barricade and lunged at, and hit a member of the protest crowd, yelling homophobic remarks. He was released later without charge….. I wonder if they’d have been so lenient if a member of the protesting crowd were arrested for attacking a pilgrim?

Todays protest was a success. We Stood up and showed that we disagree with their Pope’s attitude towards abortion, homosexuality, and the use of condoms. And there was plenty of press around, so we got our voices heard.
