Damien talks Coldplay’s new album

Coldplay - Biggest week in sales for 2008

After spending $25 million on an intensive iTunes brainwashing marketing campaign, this week Coldplay’s new album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends managed to sell 1.6 million copies around the world, making it the biggest tally for a single album worldwide so far in 2008.
With Madonna, Usher, Mariah and Janet all failing to even reach the Magic Million mark, Coldplay has set the stand high, VERY high! Akon’s new album is coming out in the next few months, Beyonce is supposed to have one coming and Whitney Housten and King of Pop Michael Jackson, both with albums in the making,
are rumoured to be coming out before Xmas. Despite that, it’s difficult to imagine someone topping Coldplay’s stats. If anyone can, it will be Michael Jackson, who’s last studio album ‘Invincible’ sold 3 million copes within 4 days of its release back in 2001.
Time will tell how that one pans out this time around..
None the less, well done Coldplay! And although I completely dislike your new music, the achievement is great!
