Ushers New Video
As explained in my review of Usher’s album, I am not impressed by his new album.
He has just released the video for his second single; ‘Moving Mountains’.. and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised!!
The video for his first single, ‘Love In This Club‘ was questionable - it looked exactly like every other video out by a hip hop star, but ‘Moving Mountains’ has a whole different appeal.
There is no dancing, no action, nothing.. but the cinematic feel and storyline to the video are fantastic. It also appears as though Usher’s new album, ‘Here I Stand’, will end up being presented in a film format, with each single’s video blending into the next to create a movie-like result, just like his last record, released 4 years ago called ‘Confessions’.
The idea was hardly innovative though…??
Almost 20 years ago, back in 1989, Michael Jackson released a feature film called ‘Moonwalker’. The film, 90 minutes in length, had a plot and characters, and cleverly included 6 full length large-scale Michael Jackson music videos.
Nice try Usher, but you really need to think OUTSIDE the box, instead of trying to steal from Michael Jackson’s box!
